In 1940 Arthur Legg started his business with a nursery in Elm Road, Reading, from which he grew a large selection of fruit and vegetables, which he sold to the local community. Later he had various shops in Reading selling his produce and buying fruit and vegetables from other local growers.
Little did he know that this business would be carried on by his son David. David has expanded the business by opening two shops and a warehouse supplying fruit and vegetables to the catering industry around Berkshire and Hampshire. When David’s son Darren left school his vocation was to join the family business.
Darren now travels into London early every morning, going to New Covent Garden and Western International markets to purchase the highest quality fresh produce from around the globe for all customers of DWE LEGG AND SON.
